Stunningly spectacular and in very original presenting condition
~ 67,900 miles! ~
Words cannot describe this stunning 1965 Silver Cloud III. Finished in the British Royal Palace state car colours of Masons black over Royal Claret with beige Connolly leather upholstery fashioning a very modest mileage of 67,900.
LSJR 521 was originally ordered to US specifications by Mr K O Fowlie of Calgary, Canada delivered through Kendall Motors and Rolls-Royce of Canada on the 9th of April, 1965. Some 15 years later, she made her way to California where she predominantly resided. Recently acquired from Beverly Hills, this Cloud III is one in simply superb condition presenting extremely original in all aspects.
She is a factory left hand drive with air conditioning and electric windows.
Body and paint is virtually perfect. She was repainted some 20 years ago in the same original Masons black but with the addition of the Royal Claret to the bottom half. We understand the cost (back then) was over $30,000. It is painted in 2 stage clear over base and looks stunning. Being a Californian car most of her life, there is not a spec of rust on her. She is finished off with beige fine-lines in the hand painted tradition to the waist-rail and hubcap beauty rings. All bright work is in excellent condition without any pitting, dents or marks.
The interior is simply stunning with all its original fitments. The Connolly leather is supple soft without signs of heavy wear. She does show all the lovely signs of gentle use and the warm "patina" that makes these Rolls-Royce interiors what they are (The word "patina" is used literally here, and not as means to explain old dry and cracked leather!). The rear seat, both design and condition, is simply divine. The African burl walnut wood throughout is excellent and I highly recommend viewing of all the close-up photos in the link provided. The headliner is clean and tidy although Mr & Mrs Moth once stopped by for a nibble and you can see minor signs around the rear vanity mirror. It is mentioned out of clear disclosure but does not warrant replacement. New matching Wilton wool carpets were recently fitted as the originals lost some pile in both the front and rear section. The new ones are genuine UK imported Wilton wool with correct leather binding. A brand new set of carpet matching lambswool moutons were also fitted by us and they look outstanding.
Mechanically, the car is superb. She has been put through Park-Ward's fully appointed facility and anything needing doing attended to. This aside, the car was excellent to commence with. As testimony, we received the car after some 2 years of barely being started. After doing all the necessary commissioning procedures, she fired up instantaneously and held a steady idle like she was warmed up only moments previously. So very impressive! She is certainly very sound and the low mileage can be of no question. She idles very smooth, powers well and handles the road comfortably and straight. She comes to a stand still true and strong. The tyres on the car are period correct L78-15 whitewalls but they are old (+/- 20 years old). Long distance driving on these would not be recommended but are perfectly fine for pottering around. We left them as they are all so "original" in presentation and the perfect fitment for museum display. We will happily fit new tyres if requested.
Under the bonnet, the presentation is amazing. It has not been precision detailed but simply kept clean and tidy throughout its life. You must take the time to look at the photos of the engine bay as its presentation is like that of only a 10 year old example. Simply stunning!
As you would expect, this Silver Cloud III comes with its original accoutrements and operating manual.
The car is of very high standard and is an undisputable 10 out of 10 driver rating and a true Preservation class show car.
~~ This stately Silver Cloud III is an outstanding example of the marque that is ready to be driven and enjoyed. She is of RROC show standard that can also be used for special occasion or sunny weekend enjoyment. Take her to your next Rolls-Royce meet and you will not only attract considerable attention, but surely pick up a prize as well! ~~
International bidders are always welcome.
~~ **Please note: All Park-Ward Motors’ cars, once sold, undergo a process known as “Predelivery Commissioning” which is a detailed procedure for bringing all service and maintenance up to date before shipping to you as the new owner. As an experienced and professional restorer and collector of some 45 years, we have our own in-house Rolls-Royce dedicated service facility with qualified craftsmen on hand. Although our cars have already undergone workshop inspection PRIOR to being offered for sale, once sold, it will be put thru our workshop to ensure all major and minor services are up to date, is mechanically maintained in good shape and all major features and functions are operating as they should. The “Predelivery Commissioning” process ensures your new Rolls-Royce is turn-key. This is all done at NO CHARGE. We do this even though the car is contractually being sold "as-is". As a passionate collector of the marque I take great pride and pleasure in passing on any of these great cars to its next owner (“caretaker”). Who else selling a Rolls-Royce on eBay does this?! Depending on our work load, please allow approximately 21 business days for this process. For more information on the Park-Ward Motor Museum and our skills, please eBay message me and I would be happy to show you some 200+ Rolls-Royces restored to varying levels over the last few years ~~
