Silver Shadow
1975/6
Very original presentation & in superb mechanical condition
This is one of the last of
the Silver Shadows made. It can be confidently said that the 1975-76 year
manufactured Silver Shadows were the best of the series as they incorporated
all of the technological and design enhancements developed over the life of the
model (1966-76).
This one is finished in Champagne
Yellow with the very rare butternut yellow Connolly hide interior - with
chocolate seat piping. The floor rugs are a gold hue
Mechanically, the car is in
superior condition. Not only has the car been subject to all the regular
workshop processes undertaken by the
The body on the car is straight
and the paint is very nice. It is was professionally top-half repainted recently
so it presents well. Other than the odd chip and small blemish here and there as
you might expect, the paint presents beautifully. It is consistent, high in
luster and presents ideally as a excellent quality driver example. (The "Silver Shadow II" boot badge was not fitted by us).
The interior of the car is lovely
with its original Connolly hide leather showing just the right amount of patina. Excellent
testament of it being a well maintained example. All the wood is in excellent
condition with the door cappings and centre console having been redone not too long ago. The
finish is deep in gloss, very flat and smooth like glass. The headlining is
very good and the carpet excellent. The deep grain and glossy finish of the rich
grained wood in this example combined with the regal yellow and walnut browns
of the leather and paint make the interior of this car very rich and inviting.
All interior feature and
functions are fully operational including all electrics – seats, windows,
gauges, clock etc. The A/C blows icy cold and heater working well. Everything
is also clean and crisp. The radio is after-market from the 80s and we think it would suit having a period radio fitted. Please enquire as to cost if you are so inclined to agree.
The car comes with the
correct jack, tools and operating manual.
This is a high ranking driver
example that needs nothing else doing. It makes for a gorgeous “weekender” that
you could take touring immediately. It is very rare that we would recommend
"driving a Rolls-Royce home across many states" because we think
buyers should exercise their purchase gently in readiness. But, as this example
is regularly driven and maintained by an expert Rolls-Royce mechanic we
confidently say; "go for it!"
Please take the time to look
at the photo link below to many additional photos where I have endeavored to
capture how pretty this car is. Please feel free to ask any and all questions
you may have as it is an as-is auction.
~~ Being a significantly well-above average example of a Silver
shadow, this will bring a good price. Notwithstanding, it remains sensibly
priced. ~~
International bidders are welcome.
