T his is a spectacularly original, all together, no modification, fully operating & running 1965 Bentley S3. 

This Bentley has been owned for many years by a life long RROC member who is not just an enthusiast but a fully skilled and qualified aircraft engineer. His knowledge on Rolls-Royce and Bentley mechanics is equal to the best, including ourselves.

The car has featured many times at Rolls-Ryce national meets and is known well in the Rolls-Royce and Bentley circle as a top example. 

A lot of maintenance work has been done on the car and she is now in turn-key status. Amongst major mechanical refurbishments was the rebuild of the 4-speed automatic transmission. It drives superbly, as a result. Not like many Cloud/S series cars where the trans change can be clunky and uncomfortable, this one is buttery smooth. Truly a delight to drive. 

Brakes are excellent with all services up to date including master cylinder.

As you would expect from an aircraft engineer, the engine runs smooth and strong. It has a new water pump fitted, new engine mounts and carburettors professionally overhauled.

Body and interior present in very original form, with stunningly beautiful original Connolly leather seats showing just the right amount of patina. Just like a comfortably used vintage leather couch they looked delightful. For those of you who know me, you know my opinion on how unsightly brand new leather seats look on Cloud and/or S. A welcome replacement is the broadcloth headliner as these do look generally look tired on even the best kept examples.

Likewise, the wood was refinished several years back and it looks stunning. This is African burl walnut used in these cars and the rich ochre knots and grains are simply delightful.  

The car is finished in Shell grey (silver) with light grey Connolly hides. It was repainted some 20 years ago. A high quality job that continues to present well today. The combination is not often seen and presents beautifully.

If you are a purist and you like originality in all forms, but you want a car that is truly “fully sorted”, this is the car for you. It can only be described as spectacularly original in presentation and comes with the credit “… anything the car needed mechanically was done” (quote from previous owner).

~~ This Bentley S3 III RHD is an all original car in every way, fully maintained such that she is ready to drive and enjoy. In our 40+ years with these great cars, we have not previously come across such a delightful and all original example.
