Rolls-Royce
Silver Shadow II
1980
~ Stunning 2-tone Black over Brewster Green ~
What can you say but “WOW!” about this stunning combination Silver Shadow II finished in 2-tone Masons Black over Brewster Green with hand-painted fine lines in moss green to the waist lines and the hubcap beauty rings. The Connolly interior is finished in super rich “House Of Commons” green. The interior makes for an absolutely striking combination with the exterior.
This Silver Shadow II was sold new in Beverly Hills, California and resided in California most of its life and then Texas and more recently Oregon, so she is dry and clean throughout. It is a delicious presenting example owned for many years by a private enthusiast who regularly maintained the car. It was recently acquired by the Park-Ward Motor Museum – a nation-wide leader in Rolls-Royce restoration with some 40 years Rolls-Royce and Bentley experience.
This is the last of the series of Silver Shadow and out of the 35,000 odd built, this is amongst the last 700 built. As such, it has all the engineering upgrades developed over the years of production.
This Shadow II is 100% rust-free, very straight and the paint presenting in excellent good clean condition. She was high-end repainted some 15 years ago and the finish is consistent, very shiny and deep lustered showing only the most minor of little chips and marks as you would reasonably expect. The fine lines are hand-painted “craftsman of the art” to the waist-rails and hubcap beauty trim rings.
The car is fitted with a ROW (“Rest Of World”) specification front air dam which is a great finishing touch. These were not available in the US for a bizarre unsubstantiated safety regulation.
The green Connolly leather ~ simply the most striking you will see ~ is in excellent condition throughout without any notable marks or blemishes. It is supple and quite simply delicious.
The burl walnut wood finishes were refinished at the time of the repaint and are in simply flawless factory condition. Those that know me know I very rarely use that word, but they are without any imperfection and are indeed perfect. And with the grace of Mother Nature, the rich deep Milanese burl walnut is breath-takingly beautiful.
I think it is difficult not to describe the interior as anything less than stunnin! Please have a look at the photo link of the many close-ups of the leather. The dash is good with no leather pulling around the vents and the headliner very “clean”. The light green Westminster carpets are in very fine condition and come with a driver-side and rear seat lambswool mouton “over-rugs” for protection. The boot (trunk) carpet with the same green theme is also in excellent condition.
All glass, chrome and bright work are excellent. All lights, instruments, features and functions are in working order.
Mechanically, the car is subject to the 40 year service and restoration experience of the Park-Ward Motor Museum’s private workshop and trained RR mechanics and craftsmen. Like every other car delivered by Park-Ward it is offered for sale under our “Predelivery Commissioning” program at no extra charge which ensures everything is fully working order with all major minor services up to date. So you get a turn key motor car with all in excellent working and operating condition, fully inspected and serviced.
This includes the all important hydraulics & brakes – fully inspected and pressure tested with any parts replaced and/or over-hauled as required – reservoir, pumps, accumulators, valves, lines, hoses, calipers and pads. All electrics; seats, windows, gauges and instruments are fully gone thru and serviced as required. The climate control in good working order with the heater nice and hot and the air conditioning blowing icy cold. In summary, the car is shipped with everything fully operational, down to the smallest light bulb.
The car is an extremely beautiful presenting example that is well in advance of any Silver Shadow II and is in excellent presentation and condition. A strong 10 out of 10 driver example.
~~ A very striking combination Silver Shadow II in its 2 tone black over Green scheme. Truly a beautiful and a very fine representation of the marque. In my eyes, the car has a very strong “Florida” and “Hollywood” feel to it which will appeal to anyone preferring a Rolls-Royce that makes a statement! Although not show standard, by definition, it is very close to. And would certainly draw a lot of attention when driven to your next Rolls-Royce meet! ~~
International bidders always welcome as we have shipped 100s world-wide
~~ **Please note: All Park-Ward Motors’ cars, once sold, undergo a process known as “Predelivery Commissioning” which is a detailed procedure for bringing all service and maintenance up to date before shipping to you as the new owner. As an experienced and professional restorer and collector of some 45 years, we have our own in-house Rolls-Royce dedicated service facility with qualified craftsmen on hand. Although our cars have already undergone workshop inspection PRIOR to being offered for sale, once sold, it will be put thru our workshop to ensure all major and minor services are up to date, is mechanically maintained in good shape and all major features and functions are operating as they should. The “Predelivery Commissioning” process ensures your new Rolls-Royce is t
urn-key. This is all done at NO CHARGE. We do this even though the car is contractually being sold “as-is”. As a passionate collector of the marque I take great pride and pleasure in passing on any of these great cars to its next owner (“caretaker”). Who else selling a Rolls-Royce on eBay does this?! Depending on our work load, please allow approximately 21 business days for this process. For more information on the Park-Ward Motor Museum and our skills, please eBay message me and I would be happy to show you some 200+ Rolls-Royces restored to varying levels over the last few years ~~
