Stunning, original presenting Bentley
Presenting a very handsome Bentley Brooklands in classic white with hand-painted fine lines in tan to its waist-rails. The interior is finished in rich ochre tan Connolly hides with cream accent piping and tan Wilton wool carpets.
The Brooklands is powered by a 6.75 litre Rolls-Royce designed V8 engine with the Bosch fuel injection system which provides ultra smooth idle and touring. Being a Brooklands it has the 4 large round headlamps from the Turbo R and the full length centre console with gear-shifter also from its big brother.
By the 1996 year, Rolls-Royce and Bentley saw all the pertinent design improvements that made these “last of the series” the best. Operationally, the most notable being the transgression to Bosche electronics, eliminating the problematic Lucas electrical (“Prince of Darkness”) system that plagued the earlier series. It also saw a completely revised dash with updated AC system and, along with a host of engineering and technical upgrades, has the full covered engine bay offering an up-to-date design appearance. Cosmetically, the car has the revised and more integrated front and rear bumpers with the more streamlined front grille. This is then set off with the more modern alloy wheels which easily identify the car as 96-and-onwards. With all these significant changes, the car is known as the “50,000 series” model, in technical circles.
This one is a very clean Florida and then Texas car its whole life so super clean underneath without any rust nor scale of any kind. It is a well maintained example with a good clean Car-fax history. It has recently been thru Park-Ward’s workshop and anything requiring doing attended to including all the hydraulics and braking system inspected and overhauled as required (pumps, accumulators, gas springs, etc). Mechanically, this car needs nothing. Under the bonnet, the presentation is of a very high standard. It has not been precision detailed but simply kept clean and tidy throughout its life.
The body of the car is straight and the paint deep in lustre and consistency. It does have a few minor little chips and marks but these are few and only show if one looks hard. Otherwise it is very shiny without any fading, dents or dings. Rubbers, mouldings, badges and external fittings are all in good condition.
The interior on this car is really lovely. The Connolly leather shows exquisitely and is entirely original. It has never been messed with and yet presents beautifully without any signs of wear and the leather soft and supple. The rich burl walnut wood throughout the car is original and presents extremely well. There are almost no hair-line cracks in the clear as normally seen on Rolls-Royces and Bentleys after a few years. This is rare to see as even 2005+ cars show signs of lacquer cracking so this is a true testament to a low mileage car that has been stored in-doors and looked after. Carpets, seats, dash, headlining and fixtures are truly excellent and I best encourage you to look at all the photos to fully appreciate how nicely the interior presents.
As part of Park-Ward’s maintenance program, all major electricals and features & functions are inspected so everything is to operate as it should; windows, mirrors, A/C, heater, lights, wipers, etc. This is a true, “take the keys and drive” example with no additional budget needed to attend to any nuances or gremlins.
The car is of very high standard and is an easy 10 out of 10 driver rating. She is 100% factory original in specification in every respect.
~~ This very elegant Bentley Brooklands is a smart example. The colour combination oozes road presence and makes for a wonderful addition to any collection! ~~
