2001 Bentley Arnage

This is NOT your standard Arnage sedan in that it is in truly superb condition both cosmetically and mechanically. Importantly, the all concerning issue of “blown head gaskets” has been addressed on this car using the upgraded Bentley tested gaskets that will not repeat failure. This is a very important consideration when buying a 2000-2004 Arnage and is the very reason why you see “cheap” ones offered for sale.

This is a low 37,000 mile predominantly Californian car its whole life, so she completely clean and dry throughout. She did come to Illinois in 2018 but has traversed only 2,000 miles in that period. It was never used in inclement weather. A full and clean Carfax report verifies her mileage, domicile and full Bentley service history.

This is the “purist” Arnage with the traditional Rolls-Royce Cosworth engineered 6.75 litre turbo-charged V8 coupled to a 4 speed automatic transmission. With some 835Nm of torque, it boasted the greatest amount of torque for any 4-door car at the time. It delivered very well for the cars sporting namesake.

This is a beautiful and commanding Arnage that presents in almost perfect condition. A very shiny, deep lustred paint-finish which presents very nicely indeed and with no notable dings, scratches or marks.

The leather is excellent condition. What many do not realise is that the interior of the Arnage is entirely upholstered in Connolly hide, including roof-lining, door trim and surrounds, dash-board and console – there is no visible vinyl used anywhere in the interior. Some 12 hides are used in the upholstery process. The Wilton wool carpeting throughout is excellent and is protected by over-lay rugs.

The wood is deep-toned Italian Burl Walnut which is a rich red-brown colour that sets off the interior colour scheme just perfectly.  It has the extra door panel inserts and with the grace of Mother Nature, the grain is rich and rewarding. The wood is in amazing condition where most examples are faded, chipping and cracking badly. This one has a few very tiny hair lines but hardly noticeable and only mentioned out of clear disclosure. Please take a close look at all the photos to confirm just how beautiful the wood presents. Again, comparing this to a typical example where the wood needs refinishing, that cost is over $5,000.

All chrome and bright-work is excellent, as is glass, rubbers and other finishes around the car.

All features and functions are fully operational. Mechanically, the car has been completely gone thru by Park-Ward Motors with all services up to date. With a comprehensive service records that come with the car, it displays all the hallmarks of a well, no-expense spared, maintained Californian example with a totally dry environment and a clean underside that looks that of a near new example.
